Authentic SNP battlefield

The Museum of Military History on an authentic battlefield from the Slovak National Uprising (SNP) offers a fascinating visit. The educational site of the SNP - Battlefield Dielik will take you through the places where the infantry battalion Prvosienka from Tisovec fought on October 21, 1944 in difficult battles against the advancing German Kampfgruppe Schäfer.

This battle claimed victims on both sides, and its detailed course, as well as the events that preceded it, are detailed on four information boards. Authenticity is added by direct testimonies of participants from the Prvosienka Infantry Battalion.

The atmosphere of this historical moment is enhanced by the restored trenches over 100 meters long, and the command dugout, which visitors can explore to better understand the challenging situations our ancestors faced.

Basic information

Parking is possible at the Dielik mountain pass. 

This location is undemanding and is also suitable for families with children. Nearby is a unique technical structure - the tunnel under Dielik.
