Astrophotography workshop
March 21 – 22, 2026 | Salaš Zbojská | Muránska Planina Dark Sky Park

We invite you to a unique weekend astrophotography workshop in the heart of the Muránska Planina Dark Sky Park, which was declared in 2023 and is among the best locations for observing the night sky in Slovakia. Salaš Zbojská offers an exceptional combination of naturally dark skies, beautiful mountain landscapes, traditional architecture and good accessibility - ideal conditions for combining the starry sky with impressive landscape compositions.
The workshop is intended for all photography enthusiasts who want to learn or improve their skills in capturing the night sky under the guidance of experienced astrophotographer Tomáš Slovinský.
Program
Saturday (21. 3. 2026)
– afternoon and early evening lectures on the basics of astrophotography, technique, planning and fieldwork
– practical night photography of the landscape and sky directly in the Dark Sky Park
Sunday (22. 3. 2026)
– morning block dedicated to photo editing and post-processing
– end of the workshop around lunchtime
The workshop also includes digital educational materials that participants will receive after the event.
Required equipment
- tripod
- SLR or mirrorless camera
- wide-angle lens (ideally 14–35 mm, aperture f/2.8 or better, recommended f/1.4)
- at least 2 spare batteries
- SD memory card
- headlamp
- warm clothing suitable for night photography in a mountainous environment
The price for the workshop is €139 and includes accommodation with breakfast on Zbojská. The price for the workshop without accommodation is €99.
